ROSS Valarie

“Colour is the vital key to my work. Through colour I endeavour to capture the life force of my environs with spontaneity and energy. I believe in the interconnectedness of all things I hope the viewer will sense the energy of the earth.”

Valarie Ross studied in NZ, England, Canada and the USA. Deep and sensuous use of colour, an acute awareness of pattern and the characteristic freshness and spontaneity of her work creates a world of its own. Valarie is a skilled water colourist who also enjoys acrylic and mixed media. She has always been a plein air painter. Her works have been shown in prominent galleries in Australia and internationally. Valarie has had successful solo and group exhibitions in Toronto, Perth, Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast.

The basis for her work, which is always completed in series, is her strong belief in the interconnectedness of all things. Her love of travel and the natural environment are major influences. Her works are represented in private collections in Australia and overseas. I believe in the interconnectedness of all things and hope my work will bring the viewers joy, happiness and a sense of the energy of the earth.
