Flourish Series - Hindeloopen (2012) Roselyn Cloake

Artwork Details

"This piece was Inspired by the Dutch folkart Hindeloopen painting style that I often saw on my Oma's furniture, I like to use the swallow as a symbol for family who have passed away, almost like an angel or guardian. As an addition to this, swallows seem to glide through the air with great ease and freedom through the changing weather, and ultimately they always come home to the nest/family home. to me this symbolises happiness, good fortune and family."  - Roselyn Cloake
